Event

Bikes will be racked in transition on Saturday, September 17 from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Harvey's hotel located at 18 Hwy 50 Stateline, NV 89449. There is no race-day packet pick-up or bringing your bike into transition. Plan accordingly, as you must pick up your race packet on Saturday and rack your bike. Our host hotel is offering special rates, so make a weekend getaway mini vacation for race weekend. Look under the Travel & Lodging tab for more hotel information.

Distance: 400 Meter Swim/24K Bike/5K Run

AQUA SPHERE SWIM COURSE:
A beautiful lake swim in Lake Tahoe that encompasses the beauty of crisp, clear, blue waters at Lakeside Beach along the shoreline area. The water temps along the shoreline in September range from high 60's to low 70's and the swim will be wet suit legal. You will start your race with a swim in California followed by run across the Nevada state line for transition. We will offer a shoe transition area from swim to transition.

SHOE TRANSITION
There is a short 563 Meter run from swim finish to the transition area. We will have an optional area marked off for you to place shoes, sandals, etc. if you would like. You will be running on a road surface.

BIKE COURSE:
And exciting bike course awaits you. It will provide you the most scenic views of Lake Tahoe as you will ride up to Cave Rock. The views as you approach Cave Rock are breathtaking. After a swim in Lake Tahoe, California side, you are now riding in Nevada. The bike features rolling hills and a few short climbs.

RUN COURSE:
Athletes will finish their triathlon experience with picturesque run along the shoreline, into the community with an out and back course. The run is a features flat and rolling hill sections.

The following cut-off times for the event:
Swim – 30 minutes
Bike – 2 hours
Run – 60 minutes
Athletes will start in waves by age group for the swim.
Please understand that you must complete each leg of a triathlon within the cut-off times listed. If you do not finish each leg of the event within the cut-off time, a volunteer or race official remove your timing tag. You will not be able to go on to the next leg of the event.

Swim Wave Starts
You are assigned based on the USAT age rule, which means you are racing based on your age as of 12/31/2012. Your swim wave will be noted on your packet. Athletes will start in waves.

Event Day Information
Early arrival is recommended to allow time for you to park, walk to transition and get ready for a terrific race day. Transition will open at 5:30 a.m. with a prompt race start at 7:30 a.m. Athlete wristbands will allow you in and out of transition.

Course Talks and Speakers at Expo
We will have two course talks on Saturday, September 15 to attend to get the latest event information, directions and more. The course talk is not mandatory, but will help make a difference in sorting out race day.

Wet suits Rules
USAT RULE Article IV Swimming Conduct
4.4 Wet suits. Each age group participant shall be permitted to wear a wet suit without penalty in any event sanctioned by USA Triathlon up to and including a water temperature of 78 degrees Fahrenheit. When the water temperature is greater than 78 degrees, but less than 84 degrees Fahrenheit, age group participants may wear a wet suit at their own discretion, provided however that participants who wear a wet suit within this temperature range shall not be eligible for prizes or awards. Age group participants shall not wear wet suits in water temperatures equal to or greater than 84 degrees Fahrenheit.

Please note we will do an official water temperature reading on race morning. Wet suits are highly recommended.

Strollers, Inline Skates, Rollerblades, Headphones and Dogs Not Allowed On Course
For the safety of all participants, strollers, inline skates, rollerblades, headphones and dogs are not allowed on the course at any time.

kind Iron Girl necklace to the top three finishers in each age group. We will have 15 divisions: 18 - 19; 20 - 24; 25 - 29; 30 - 34; 35 - 39; 40 -44; 45 - 49; 50 - 54; 55 - 59; 60 - 64; 65 - 69; 70 - 74; 75- 79; 80+
