Transition
Bikes will be racked in transition on Friday, May 14 from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. The transition area is located at the Loew's Resort. There is no race-day packet pick-up or bringing your bike into transition. Plan accordingly, as you must pick up your race packet on Thursday or Friday and rack your bike on Friday. Our host hotel is offering special rates, so make a weekend getaway mini vacation for race weekend. Look under the Travel & Lodging tab for more hotel information.

The swim will be wetsuit legal, the sprint bike course will feature a new course with only one loop on the bike and the run will have refueling stations at every mile with lots of surprises to keep you motiviated on this beautiful rolling course out in the desert.
Sprint Distance: 800 Swim/30K Bike/5K Run
SWIM:
A beautiful lake swim on the grounds the Lake Las Vegas resort from outside the Lowes Resort beach park.
BIKE:
Sprint course will do one loop out of the resort on to the roads for a quick turn around back to the resort.
RUN: Athletes will finish their triathlon experience on a picturesque desert style run throughout Lake Las Vegas Resort. Many entertaining new surprises will greet on the will greet on the 2010 . To keep you motivated when you hit dirt roads out in the desert, the entertainment will keep you moving. Please note the sprint is only on the dirt roads for less than 3/4 of a mile. Refueling stations will be available at every mile along with the cooling Aflac duck sponges and the finish line.
Weather Information
May weather is beautiful for a triathlon event. The average temperature 85 degrees with a high of 90 degrees and low of 69. With the earlier race start, we avoid the heat of the afternoon.
Water temperatures for the lake are usually in the high 60's. This is a wet suit legal race and wet suits are highly recommended. Final water temps will be noted race week and again on race morning.
Event Day Information
The transition area is located at the Loew's Resort, Early arrival is recommended to allow time for you to park, walk to transition and get ready for a terrific race day. Transition will open at 4:30 a.m. with a prompt race start at 6:30 a.m.
Athlete wristbands will allow you in and out of transition.
Course Talks at Expo
We will have three course talks on Friday, May 14 to attend to get the latest event information, directions and more. The course talk is not mandatory, but will help make a difference in sorting out race day.

Wet suits Rules
Following the USAT rule - wet suits will be allowed up to 78 degrees water temp. After 78 degrees to 84 degrees you can wear a wet suits but you will not be eligible for age group awards. Please note we will do an official water temperature reading on race morning. But wet suits will likely be necessary.
Age Group Awards
We will have 15 age groups: 14 - 19; 20 - 24; 25 - 29; 30 - 34; 35 - 39; 40 - 44; 45 - 49; 50 - 54; 55 - 59; 60 - 64; 65 - 69; 70 - 74; 75 - 79; 80- 84; 85+ You must be 14 years or older to participate in the event.
Awards to the top 3 finishers in each age group will be presented limited edition TriClique Iron Girl jewelry. All finishers will receive a custom Iron Girl medal.
Strollers, Inline Skates, Rollerblades, Headphones and Dogs Not Allowed On Course
For the safety of all participants, strollers, inline skates, rollerblades, headphones and dogs are not allowed on the course at any time.
Volunteer for the Event
We are recruiting a team of dedicated volunteers to assist in helping each participant reach her goal of finishing! Are you part of a charitable organization? And individual looking for community service hours. We have opportunities for individuals and groups such as schools, clubs, churches and other not-for-profit organizations to volunteer at the event.
